Watershed
planning

We all live in a watershedthe land area draining into a river or lake. Some us live in the Cuyahoga River watershed. Most of us in Northeast Ohio live in the Lake Erie watershed.

Within a watershed, all of us are connected by the water running over the landthe same water that flows through our bodies. The life-sustaining flow of water transcends all boundaries of property or municipality. We are all responsible for the care of watersheds.

In this section of our Web site, we provide information on the health of the watersheds in Northeast Ohio. There is a special emphasis on stormwater runoff, which is the major water quality problem in the region.
