Residents want to make their neighborhoods safer, and more child-friendly. They are looking at adjusting traffic patterns as a tool to increase the viability of their retail districts. Theyre improving local mobility by providing safe routes for bicycles and pedestrians. They are examining ways to mitigate the negative effects of traffic noise, speed and pollution. Furthermore, they are actively participating in large-scale infrastructure projects to ensure the livability of the neighborhoods is maintained through the construction process. It is recommended that the City take a leadership role in the development and implementation of formal policies and procedures to support neighborhood efforts to reduce the impact of traffic on the residents.
