EcoCity Cleveland Journal

Indispensable reading for those who want to know
what's really going on in the region
or what the headlines may be a decade from now.
David Orr, Oberlin College Environmental Studies

Published since 1993, our journal covers the environmental and urban issues shaping Northeast Ohio land use and development trends, transportation planning, urban design, green building, and watershed protection. It has helped to set a new agenda for sustainability in the region. A subscription to the journal is a benefit of membership in EcoCity Cleveland.

The content of the journal is available in several formats. Many articles have been incorporated into the pages of this Web site according to topic. Entire back issues can be downloaded in PDF format. And some back issues are still available in the original printed version (call for availability and price).

We also will be assembling collections of some of the journal's popular features:

Alas, poor Cleveland. It's been a full 25 years since that infamous day when the Cuyahoga River caught fire...yet the city has never shaken its image as America's number one urban eco-disaster area. But a close look at EcoCity Clevelandarguably the best local environmental publication in Americamight change a few minds.
