Surface drinking While most communities in our region draw water from Lake Erie, a few rely on reservoirs fed by rivers. These communities include Akron on the Cuyahoga River, Medina and Berea on the Rocky River, and Wellington and Oberlin on the Black River. Such communities must be concerned about land use changes that impact water quality.
