from second Zone Rec workshop

  • Lots of trees in parking lot and throughout property
  • Natural sound barrier along highway
  • Pool with diving boards south of parking lot that possibly uses rainwater runoff from parking lot (first going through a filtration system);
  • Pool house east of pool with concession stand, wading/ ice skating pool, water fountain;
  • Possibly water park for little kids
  • Convert part of building to a greenhouse; wildflower garden adjacent to it
  • Public art at NW corner of grounds near street intersection
  • Turn gazebo into picnic area with benches
  • Move all fields west, minimizing gap between soccer field and gazebo area
  • In far east area, construct wetland with a mini nature center (with programming such as stream restoration); include picnic tables north of wetland
  • Storm water runoff from parking lot that flows into restored stream running along the southern edge of the property to the wetland.
  • On eastern edge of property make a promenade
  • Put in more safety lights and bike racks scattered throughout property
  • Add a path (biking and walking) to divide the natural wetland/ educational area and the recreational area
  • Bathrooms and drinking fountains near all fields
