EcoVillage awards

Below is a list of the awards and honors received for the Cleveland EcoVillage project.

 

2006 Ohio Chapter of ASLA Honor Award

The greenspace design for the Michael Zone Recreation Center  was selected as a recipient of the Ohio Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects Honor Award.  The award, which is their highest honor, recognizes superior professional achievement and projects that embody the creativity, imagination and practicality of the profession of landscape architecture.

2004 Dominion Community Impact Award

The Cleveland EcoVillage was selected as a winner of the 2004 Dominion East Ohio Community Impact Award. The Dominion Foundation partners with Inside Business magazine to recognize community organizations that have made major contributions to the economic and social revitalization of the communities within the Dominion East Ohio service area. The EcoVillage was selected from among 82 entries to receive $7500.  The winners were honored at a reception on February 1, 2005, and were profiled in Inside Business magazine.

 

2004 ODCA Project of the Year

The EcoVillage Townhomes received the Ohio Community Development Association (OCDCA) 2004 Project of the Year Award. The award was presented at the 20th annual conference of the OCDCA October 1, 2004. The OCDCA is a statewide membership organization of community development corporations that engages in capacity-building, advocacy and public policy development that fosters socially and economically healthy communities.

2003 NAHB Award

The National Association of Home Builders selected the Cleveland EcoVillage as 2003 Best Urban Setting, Multifamily Developments of less than 50 units. NAHB selects six residential builders from the 11-county area of Northeast Ohio as part of its Smart Growth Community Excellence Awards. The award recognizes builders, developers and community organizations that follow smart growth principles in building single-family and multifamily housing and mixed-use developments in both urban and suburban locations.

2003 Governor's Award

The Cleveland EcoVillage Townhomes was selected as the 2003 Governor's Award for Energy Efficiency. This award honors individuals, businesses, industries and organizations that have improved Ohio's economic competitiveness and its environment through the effective and innovative use of energy efficiency.
