A bridge to Whiskey Island
Where everything comes together: The mouth of the Cuyahoga River should be revered as a mythic place — the place where the river meets the lake, the place where the region comes together. One way to celebrate this place — and provide access to it — would be to build an inspiring bike/pedestrian bridge across the river. The bridge would carry the Lakefront Bikeway and would intersect with the northern terminus of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. It could be a dramatic symbol for Cleveland’s new embrace of its waterfronts.
