Akron Bicycle Club (ABC)

Akron Bicycle Club meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Summit Metroparks' Shady Hollow Pavilion. The club hosts a full schedule of rides for the members. For more information, email dwatk2300@nls.net

Akron Metro Parks Hiking Club

The hiking club publishes a monthly newsletter listing their scheduled hikes. For more information, contact Nancy Huth at 330-628-3031.

Cascade Locks Park Association (CLPA)

CLPA was incorporated in 1989 for the purpose of designing, planning and implementing the Cascade Locks Park from Locks 10-16 along the Ohio & Erie Canal while preserving, protecting and promoting the industrial, commercial and cultural heritage of the area. The CLPA operates the Mustill Store and House, as well as hosting a series of programs and special events. Call 330-374-5625.

Cleveland Metroparks Photography Club - Southwest

Meets every other month, 7-9:30 p.m. at the Rocky River Nature Center. Gain insight into photographic techniques, materials and equipment.

Cleveland Metroparks Photography Club - East

Meets every 1st and 3rd Monday at 8:00 p.m. at the North Chagrin Nature Center, off White Road and SOM Center in Mayfield Hts. Dedicated to the study and preservation of nature, as well as furthering the techniques and personal fulfillment of photography as a hobby. Meetings are all free and open to the public. Refreshments are served.

Greater Akron Audobon Society

Greater Akron Audobon Society meetings every fourth Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 7 p.m. at the Summit County Metro Parks Shady Hollow with speakers on birds, wildlife, conservation and other environmental topics, spring and fall bird walks, fall bird seed sale, Christmas and summer bird counts and publishes a bi-monthly member newsletter. Kirtland Bird Club

The Kirtland Bird Club (KBC) has over a 60-year tradition of quality contributions to the Northeast Ohio Birding community. Meetings are held at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History at 7:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month September through June with a picnic event in July and August. Local and out of town weekend field trips are scheduled September through June. You do not have to be a member to attend the meetings or participate in the field trips. Summit Metro Parks

This club meets the first Monday of each month except June, July, August and December, 7:30 p.m. at the Metro parks. Member and guest speakers present programs; photo walks are scheduled on the Saturday morning following the meeting. Call 330-867-5482 or email ahp@uakron.edu.

Sierra Club Portage Trail Chapter

The Portage Sierra Club meets the third Thursday of each month, 7:30 p.m. exept June, July, August and December, 7:30 p.m. at Shady Hollow.The club also has newsletters and activities for members. Email: eclausson@juno.com

S.E.A.N.Self-Employed Artists' Network

The Self-Employed Artists' Network is a monthly informal discussion group. The monthly meetings are open to all artists and guests in the Cleveland area. SEAN participants discuss ideas, concerns, and issues addressed by self-employed artists. Guest speakers are also provided. The meetings are free of charge and open to the public.
